What NOW says: “Pure Vegetable Glycerine is an outstanding moisturizer and skin cleanser that also provides softening and lubricating benefits. This past winter completely ravaged my skin, I mean ravaged it! My normal moisturizers weren’t helping at all, and even my moisturizing face masks could hardly quench my skin. So I was scrolling through my daily blogs that I read and I came across a helpful post that mentioned using pure vegetable glycerin as a moisturizer! So off I went to my local co-op to grab a bottle of it to see if it was the saving grace my skin needed. It was all of that and more.  Continue reading

Beauty Blender Solid Cleanser

What Sephora says: “This cleanser supports the integrity of the blender as well as removes excess residue and germs for a clean makeup application. Formulated without Parabens, Sulfates and Phthalates.”

Hey everyone, it’s your long lost beauty blogger! I’m so sorry I’ve been absent for so long. I went on vacation for a week and really needed some time to wind down and spend some time with my family. I tried to take some pictures to put up a few posts but I was on the Oregon Coast and the weather would just not cooperate with me! It was cloudy most of the time and my pictures just weren’t doing the products justice. I’ll try to make up for the lost time this week!

Onto the Solid Cleanser! If you haven’t read my review about the Beauty Blender and how it has changed the way I do my makeup, definitely do so! This is the accompanying post and if you get the Beauty Blender, this little gem should be on your list as well.  Continue reading

Face Mask Friday! Hydrating Blue Agave Paper Mask.

Freeman Feeling Beautiful Facial Hydrating Blue Agave Paper Mask

What Freeman says: “Serum enriched paper facial mask contains soothing Blue Agave to soften and rehydrate. Ultra Hydrating Hyaluronic Acid and Allantoin help give skin a refreshed look and feel for a smoother finish. Perfect for dry skin.”

I’m still on the paper mask kick and this hydrating blue agave mask, just like the starfruit mask, does not disappoint. I couldn’t find my regular moisturizer the other night and my skin did not like the one I used instead. My skin was dry and flaky, so this mask came to the rescue and my skin bounced back even more hydrated than normal. If you have dry skin, check this out!  Continue reading

Make blending a breeze with the Beauty Blender.

The Original Beauty Blender

What BeautyBlender.net is saying: “Beautyblender’s patent-pending elliptical shape makes application foolproof by allowing you to access hard-to-reach areas with stunning ease. Its suede texture is sensual to the touch and its unique curves fit the contours of your face, leaving your make up dazzling and undetectable. Beautyblender is latex free, non-allergenic and odor free.”

I have to admit, I am jumping on this band wagon extremely late! The Beauty Blender has already had cult status for years and I can’t believe I haven’t tried it until this summer. Better late than never though, right? I’m just going to get this out there and say it–you need this. Now.  Continue reading

Soulful Blues.

Image

It happened. It finally happened. I got the courage to put some colors on my eyes other than my neutrals! And you know what? I actually love it. I never thought I’d be able to pull off blue eye shadow but I proved myself wrong. I’m happy that I kicked myself and did it, because this is now one of my favorite looks to date. Here’s what I used.  Continue reading

Face Mask Friday! Purifying Star Fruit Sheet Mask!

Image

Freeman Facial Purifying Star Fruit Paper Mask

What Freeman says: “This serum infused paper facial mask with Star Fruit helps calm skin stressed by flare ups. Lavender and Niacinamide help balance oil production. Tea Tree soothes breakout stressed skin. Perfect for combination to oily skin.”

If you’ve been following my twitter account, I’m sure you’ve heard me complain, whine talk about the lack of sheet masks in the USA. They have so many awesome benefits and are ridiculously abundant in Asia, so why can’t the we seem to jump on the bandwagon too? Well, I’m really happy to say that I found some really good ones, and for cheap too! As much as I hate going to Walmart, these are so worth it. Get on it!

EDIT 1/3/2014  This mask has been causing many problems for people with sensitive skin. Only you know your skin, so please use with caution. If you have any problem after using this mask, please let me know and I can try to help.

My favorite color is Neon…wait, Neuron?

Image

Silk Naturals Neuron Eye Shadow

What Silk Naturals says: “Neuron is full of sparks!  It’s a medium teal shade with a pearl finish, slight golden overlay and tons of blue twinkle.”

Does anybody else listen to country? I seriously love the song “Neon” by Chris Young and it always seems to get stuck in my head. Not to mention, he is seriously good looking. I always want to call this color Neon but then I have to sit and correct myself, and right around then is when that song gets stuck in my head. This color is just as addicting as the song and with this summer only getting hotter, I feel as if I’m going to have to bring this out to keep up with the heat.  Continue reading

Primed and perfect on a budget.

Jesse’s Girl Eye Shadow Primer

What Jesse’s Girl says: “Your eyes, like an artist’s canvas, require a primer for best results from your vibrant color palette. Jesse’s Girl Eye Shadow Primer provides a silky, crease proof base for smoother application and long lasting color.”

I cannot live without eye shadow primer! However, I don’t want to pay an arm and a leg for one either. NAR’s Smudgeproof is by far the most expensive I’ve bought, but Urban Decay’s Primer Potion and Too Faced Shadow Insurance are right up there as well. On a college student’s budget I just can’t afford to buy something so small for that expensive! I’d much rather be spending that on bar drinks wholesome juices. So when I read a review about Jesse’s Girl primer being just as good as all of the above for super cheap, I knew I needed to try it. So, does it work? Continue reading
