Put some moisture back in your skin!

What NOW says: “Pure Vegetable Glycerine is an outstanding moisturizer and skin cleanser that also provides softening and lubricating benefits. It’s hypoallergenic and easily soluble in water, making it suitable for use in all of your favorite cosmetics applications. 100% Pure Vegetable Glycerine has a long shelf life and does not easily oxidize. It is an all natural product derived from non-GMO Palm Oil or vegetable oil.”

This past winter completely ravaged my skin, I mean ravaged it! My normal moisturizers weren’t helping at all, and even my moisturizing face masks could hardly quench my skin. So I was scrolling through my daily blogs that I read and I came across a helpful post that mentioned using pure vegetable glycerin as a moisturizer! So off I went to my local co-op to grab a bottle of it to see if it was the saving grace my skin needed. It was all of that and more.

It’s completely clear!

Vegetable Glycerine is used in all sorts of products, from shampoos/conditioners, foundations, moisturizers, and the list goes on and on. It has many benefits! It’s hypoallergenic and antibacterial so it won’t irritate acne, psoriasis or eczema prone skin. It also helps speed healing of acne scabs and rough skin. It provides intense moisture and keeps the moisture on the surface of the skin.

This was an absolute god-send to my red and irritated skin this winter! If my nose was chapped, a little bit of this dabbed on it would instantly soothe it and prevent any more irritation. My skin was also wind chapped from playing Ultimate Frisbee outside in the freezing cold and rain so I used this as a protective layer from the elements and it helped immensely! I have never broken out from this at all, nor have my pores been clogged in the past six months I have been using it. I also just ran out of my original so I bought a back up today, so it really lasts a long time!

You only need a teeny tiny bit to moisturize your face, especially if you’re using this as an aid with your moisturizer. I actually don’t even use a regular nighttime moisturizer at all anymore, this has been all I have needed. No more than a pea sized drop is needed for your whole face and anymore has a tendency to make your face feel sticky. I only use this at night and after I’ve applied my acne treatments because it’s much too moisturizing for the day. It’s easy to rinse off in the morning and I’ve found that my makeup applies so much smoother now that my skin is so hydrated! I’ve even started incorporating it into my moisturizing face masks and it has made such a difference!

If you suffer from dry spots or dry skin, you absolutely need to get this! Even if you have combination skin like I do, your skin will love this! Not to mention it’s a super cheap moisturizer and if you’re a college student like me who doesn’t have the big bucks to spend on skincare then you also need to get on this!

Where to buy: search online at Now Foods to find a retailer near you. I believe mine was around $3.00 at my local co-op.

      • I love the almond oil and I’ve recently started using the avocado oil, also love! You can use them on your face. I haven’t though. I do use them as a deep conditioning treatment for my ends though. They’re seriously the best!

      • That’s a great idea! I’ve heard Sweet Almond Oil is amazing for your face, and Avocado Oil is good for your hair! I’ll have to give them a try! I also really want to try the Grapeseed Oil too! Thanks for the recommendations!

Show some love!
