Bare it all

Naked3five

What Sephora says: “Dare to get Naked all over again with Urban Decay’s latest shadow palette. Naked3 debuts 12 insanely beautiful rose-hued neutrals in an impressive range of shades—from pale, shimmery pink to deep black matte with red microglitter—in ultrasmooth matte, pearl, and glimmering metallic finishes. Each shadow features Urban Decay’s Pigment Infusion System™, the proprietary blend of ingredients that gives every shade its velvety texture, rich color, serious staying power, and blendability.”

I have long been a fan of the original Naked palette. It is my go-to for every day! My sister loved using my palette too, but she has gorgeous green eyes so I convinced her to buy the Naked 3. She now uses it every day and I swear her eyes have never been a more beautiful green.  Continue reading

Urban Decay Smoked Eye Shadow Palette

What Sephora says: “An Urban Decay take on the always-popular smoky eye, this 10-shadow palette includes traditional black and gray, as well as modern-colored hues for smoky eyes. Each velvety shade features Urban Decay’s new shadow formula and proprietary Pigment Infusion System™, allowing infinite depth to your eye looks, whether you commit to all-out nighttime smoky or just apply a hint of sultry smudgy color for daytime.”

Smokes and I are not friends, we’re more like casual acquaintances. Tell me to do a black smokey eye and I will run in the other direction! Let’s just say it’s not my thing, but for the girls who love rocking those bedroom eyes, you need this in your life. These shades will knock your socks off, and there’s a good possibility they’ll also knock the rest of your clothes off as well.  Continue reading

Urban Decay Ammo Palette

What Sephora says: “An eye shadow set featuring ten of Urban Decay’s bestselling shades—from neutral to vivid to all-out smoky.”

You all know me and color–half of the time I won’t even go near it. However, when my best friend Emily (fashionista over at Sekond-Skin!) said that she wanted to explore the world of color with her makeup, I was determined to help her find the best palette. The search led to Urban Decay and possibly one of the most versatile and easily wearable, playful color palettes I’ve ever come across. Em was hooked and surprisingly, so was I.  Continue reading

A palette, a park, and the most perfect day.

IMAG0911

It’s been no secret that I absolutely love being twenty-one, but I was more than happy to trade in my adult privileges for five days of pure childhood amusement. Okay, so I didn’t completely hand over the booze, but I did get to act like a twelve year old and that was pretty awesome. Continue reading

Benefit World Famous Neutrals-Easiest Nudes Ever

What Sephora says: “These soft, flattering eyeshadows in award-winning creaseless creams and new longwear powder-shadows make enhancing your eyes effortless. The universally flattering shades layer beautifully —and the tips and tricks show you how to create looks for daytime and playtime.”

When I was visiting for my spring break last week, my sister and I went into Sephora to check out a few products. She loves my Benefit Most Glamorous Nudes Palette, and she wanted to get one for herself. When she came across this palette, she loved it immediately, and it came home with her. I’m not much of a fan of the mix of cooler and warmer tones in a palette, but it came as a gorgeous surprise to me when I swatched it and loved it.  Continue reading

“A place where there isn’t any trouble. Do you suppose there is such a place, Toto?”

What Sephora says: “Inspired by the Disney film’s theme of good witch vs. bad witch (and the good witch/bad witch dichotomy in all of us), Urban Decay created two collectible palettes loaded with beautiful, never-before-seen shades. Recreate Theodora’s captivating, edgy look and ‘Glinda’s ethereal, spellbinding look’ with eight all new and exclusive eye shadows in six pans (this set includes two duo-shades that are split in half, with a different color on each side of the pan). Every shade features Urban Decay’s Pigment Infusion System™, the proprietary blend of ingredients that gives each shade its velvety texture, rich color, serious staying power, and blendability.”

A place without any trouble, huh? Well even if it does exist, I think I’ll stay on this side of the rainbow… These palettes themselves are quite troublesome. At just under $50 a piece, they are leading my bank account anywhere but down the yellow brick road — more like to a little red line where my account balance should be. But, did that stop me from giving in to the temptation of these beauties? Hell. No. Ladies and gents, Urban Decay has presented the world with two little gems that I’d take over a pair of ruby slippers any day. Continue reading

The Balm Nude’tude Palette in Feeling Naughty

I have to admit, one of the reasons I bought this palette is because the design is just so darling. I love The Balm, they always have creative names for all of their cosmetics and it’s just a dynamite brand!  I wish Sephora still sold them! I saw this palette reviewed on Temptalia last year (if you have not checked her out, definitely do so) and I loved it. I was lucky enough to snag this sexy little thing on sale during Black Friday, but I’d say it’s well worth the price if you’re looking to have one yourself. Besides, once you see how cute it is, how could you say no?  Continue reading
