Face Mask Friday-LUSH Mask of Magnaminty!

Image

What LUSH says: “Mask of Magnaminty isn’t technically a daily ‘facial wash’; it’s actually a deep cleansing face and back mask. China clay and fresh peppermint reach deep down to pull the debris from your pores, giving you that delightful tingly-clean sensation. We add loads of aduki beans to exfoliate flaky or dry skin, vanilla absolute to calm redness and honey to soothe. Our inventors created Mask of Magnaminty to be the ‘ultimate face mask’, intense but not harsh or abrasive on the skin. We recommend using Mask of Magnaminty weekly to keep the skin in good condition.”

I love, love, love that I am finally back on almost all LUSH products again. I’ve been searching around for new brands this past year but somehow going back to LUSH is like going back home. I got all of my old favorites like Dark Angels and Herbalism and Mask of Magnaminty. My skin absolutely loves this mask and yours will too. I mean it’s LUSH, what’s not to love? Continue reading

Face Mask Friday–LUSH Cosmetic Warrior!

Image

What LUSH says: “Spots! Oily areas! Blackheads! The frustration of having breakout prone skin can incite aggressive, ‘industrial’ type cleaning. Unfortunately, breakout prone skin is often very sensitive, so using harsh cleansers can actually make the problem worse. Don’t over attack your skin; lead it firmly down the path to salvation with Cosmetic Warrior. Cosmetic Warrior is kind to problem-laden faces thanks to moisturizing egg whites and honey, which smooth and tighten the pores, and cleansing garlic and tea tree oil for a fresh, clear, happy face.”

Hey lovelies! I’m sorry that I have been absent on the blog recently, I’ve been spending my birthday week in Chicago with my best friend of fourteen years! It’s been absolutely amazing and crazy, I have barely had enough time for makeup, let alone blogging! You know me, I can’t resist anything made by LUSH, especially their face masks, so I stopped by one here and grabbed up a few more. This one happens to be my favorite LUSH makes, and is absolutely a must have for acne prone skin. If you don’t read any more, read this. You need it.  Continue reading

It’s like Juice, but for your face.

Image

What Juice Beauty says: “Prevent blemishes, deeply cleanse and remove impurities with this clarifying cleanser of certified organic lemon, cherry and aloe juices. Deeply cleanses, heals while hydrating. Formulated without parabens, petroleum, propylene and butylene glycol, sodium lauryl sulfates, pesticides, phthalates, artificial dyes and synthetic fragrances. “

I’m just going to come right out and say it–I LOVE THIS CLEANSER. I used Juice Beauty’s line a few years back and loved it then, but because of my short attention span for beauty products I stopped using it. I am so happy I jumped back on the bandwagon again, my skin has never been happier!  Continue reading

Face Mask Friday–Super Spirulina!

Image

I can’t believe it’s been two weeks since my last post, I feel like it’s passed by in a blink of an eye. Again, I apologize for my posts being so spread out and sporadic! This year at school is going to be a killer and I’m really hoping I can try to get at least three posts out a week. So bear with me while I adjust to my schedule.  I hope you all are feeling amazing and are as excited for the weekend as I am! If your skin has been feeling or looking a little lackluster lately, this mask should perk it right back up. My original Spirulina Mask post is one of the most popular posts I’ve had to date, so I decided to take it up a notch and make it even more spectacular. Onto brighter and clearer skin! Face Mask Friday! Clear skin for the win!

Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask

What Origins says: “When environmental toxins, dirt and debris get under your skin, its waste-filtering system gets jammed, pores get clogged, skin looks cloudy. Nature’s complexion clean-up crew gets to the bottom of skins overcast condition and clears the way for it to act its best. Activated Charcoal acts like a magnet to draw out deep-dwelling pore-cloggers, White China Clay absorbs environmental toxins, Lecithin dissolves impurities. Without all that “stuff” down there, skin “breathes a sigh of relief.”

This is the other mask I decided to buy on my trip to Origins when I bought the Drink Up Intensive and I have to say, I love both of these! If you’re looking for a mask to cut through oil, heal acne and de-gunk your pores, this can do the job.  Continue reading

Only two ingredients!

When I just don’t have time to make a real fancy mask, but I still want my skin to reap the benefits from one, this is the mask I turn to. It’s so easy, and not to mention it smells absolutely delicious. If you are constantly in a rush and don’t have much time to make a face mask, this one is for you.  Continue reading

Face Mask Friday! Seaweed Sea Monster.

Image

What you will need for the Seaweed Lemon Mask

I love this mask! I usually only make it with seaweed and aloe, but I decided to add a little bit of lemon juice to make it have a bit of a kick. The mask seemed to have a bit of a reaction though when I added the lemon juice, it ended up looking like a souffle after a couple of minutes! I took a picture because I couldn’t stop laughing! This Dark Angel saved my skin.

LUSH Dark Angels Cleanser

What LUSH says about Dark Angels:

“Dark Angels is the nemesis of all blemishes, breakouts and blocked pores. Our soft black scrub was conceived when we combined the exfoliating power of Angels on Bare Skin and the sebum balancing abilities of Coal Face. The result? A velvety cleanser, sprinkled with black sugar and powdered charcoal to gently exfoliate and cleanse away excess oils. We add antimicrobial rhassoul mud and vitamin-rich cold pressed organic avocado oil to soften, moisturize and nourish skin, as well as sandalwood and rosewood oils to soothe.”

Before I got this, I was dealing with a lot of clogged pores and blackheads that I could never seem to get rid of, no matter how much I exfoliated or cleansed my skin. That all changed when this black beauty came into my life. Suddenly, my skin took on a glow that I hadn’t had before and my pores were significantly cleaner than ever before. This Dark Angel definitely became my skins guardian angel.  Continue reading

Is that seaweed in my cleanser?

LUSH Aqua Marina Cleanser

What LUSH says: “Do you remember putting calamine lotion on bug bites as a child? Aqua Marina was made with the same principle in mind; using the soothing pink extract to reduce redness and inflammation in sensitive skin. Those who have a tendency to react to citrus or strong herbal oils will find salvation in Aqua Marina’s gentle aloe vera and moisturizing nori seaweed. Especially cooling on sun burnt faces, Aqua Marina is perfect for normal to dry skin types. Your cleanser will remain fresh for up to three months. Always check the expiration date on your product.”

Most people who haven’t had the LUSH experience might think that seeing real seaweed in their cleanser is a little strange. I know that when I went to my Ultimate girls party to make masks, I got many weird looks when I brought this out! But once the girls had tried it, they actually liked it! It goes to show you, that even though something may look a little funny (and smell kind of funky) doesn’t always mean it’s bad. Unless of course you’re putting something rotten on your face, then I wouldn’t try it. I promise this isn’t!  Continue reading
