Last call for spring

Image

Schools out for summer! Well, not really. I still have summer classes. But I’m sure as hell not letting that keep me from enjoying my summer. I’m heading out with my ladies tonight and I wanted my look to be as sizzling as the temperature outside. I hope you’re all enjoying your night as well! I am still loving the Vice Palette by Urban Decay, it’s absolutely perfect for summer! You can bet I’ll be showcasing it many times this summer. Here are the products that I used! Continue reading

Who says neutral has to be boring?

Today I have a natural daytime spring look for you! I love using neutrals, it’s an all day, everyday kind of thing for me. They add so much to your look without going overboard and I think they get looked over a lot. It’s my first time doing a collage/picture tutorial so bear with me. The lighting was also super frustrating today and my camera wasn’t cooperating either, but practice makes perfect, right? Robin, my roommate was kind enough to be my model for the day and she has seriously gorgeous blue eyes. I loved every second working with her! Expect to see more of these in the future! Onto the tutorial! Continue reading

Smokin’ hot.

Urban Decay Smoked Eye Shadow Palette

What Sephora says: “An Urban Decay take on the always-popular smoky eye, this 10-shadow palette includes traditional black and gray, as well as modern-colored hues for smoky eyes. Each velvety shade features Urban Decay’s new shadow formula and proprietary Pigment Infusion System™, allowing infinite depth to your eye looks, whether you commit to all-out nighttime smoky or just apply a hint of sultry smudgy color for daytime.”

Smokes and I are not friends, we’re more like casual acquaintances. Tell me to do a black smokey eye and I will run in the other direction! Let’s just say it’s not my thing, but for the girls who love rocking those bedroom eyes, you need this in your life. These shades will knock your socks off, and there’s a good possibility they’ll also knock the rest of your clothes off as well.  Continue reading

Little bit of devil in her angel eyes.

Silk Naturals Demon Eye Shadow

What Silk Naturals says about Demon: “Demon is a deep dark chocolate color with lots and lots of red glimmer.  It’s really fun as a liner, and if you’re daring it’s an amazing lid color for late night schenanigans.  Demon was inspired by the shower scene in the original Psycho when they used chocolate syrup as the blood because it looked the most realistic in black and white.  It’s made as a nod towards Halloween- a makeup gal’s favorite night!”

Does anyone else listen to country? If you do, I sincerely hope you get my title reference! I absolutely adore the band Love and Theft and I could not have thought of a better title for this eye shadow. The moment I saw Demon on Silk Naturals, I knew I had to have it! Those red and chocolate tones I knew were going to look wicked with my red hair and I was so right. I can’t wait to show you guys!  Continue reading

Olive you.

Image

Since it’s been ages since I’ve posted a face of the day, I figured I should really get back on that! Have I ever told you guys that I love the color olive? I really, really love it. So here’s a light olive look that I threw together for you. I got some gorgeous greens from Silk Naturals that I wanted to play around with and I’m extremely happy with the result. I hope you all love it! I’ll post products soon when I get back from the store!  Continue reading

Thrills and Frills.

Silk Naturals Frills Eye Shadow

You guys are going to kill me. They apparently do not carry this color at Silk Naturals anymore, so I must have gotten this in the Last Chance pile and didn’t remember. This is one of the colors I bought for my sister for her graduation, and happens to be her favorite. I don’t know how I’m going to break the news to her that it’s discontinued! But like I’ve said before, pretty makeup is pretty makeup and this deserves to be shown. Continue reading

My favorite color is Neon…wait, Neuron?

Image

Silk Naturals Neuron Eye Shadow

What Silk Naturals says: “Neuron is full of sparks!  It’s a medium teal shade with a pearl finish, slight golden overlay and tons of blue twinkle.”

Does anybody else listen to country? I seriously love the song “Neon” by Chris Young and it always seems to get stuck in my head. Not to mention, he is seriously good looking. I always want to call this color Neon but then I have to sit and correct myself, and right around then is when that song gets stuck in my head. This color is just as addicting as the song and with this summer only getting hotter, I feel as if I’m going to have to bring this out to keep up with the heat.  Continue reading

As lovely as a Kingfisher’s plumes.

Silk Naturals Eye Shadow in Kingfisher

What Silk Naturals says: “Kingfisher has a navy base, with aqua green highlights, and aqua glimmers. It’s a nice liner color by itself- a great, incredibly interesting color.”

You guys know me, I’m really not a huge fan of colors at all. However, I’ve been trying to incorporate it more into my looks thanks to my many wonderful blogger friends, especially the lovely Saman from Colour Obsession. So when I saw this color on Silk Naturals website, I immediately fell in love with it and I knew I had to give it a try.  Continue reading

Face of the Day!

I know it’s been a long time since I’ve posted a look. but I haven’t really had a camera to call my own. Well, I’m happy to announce that I finally do! I’ve been trying it out for the past few hours and I still haven’t quite gotten the hang of all of the functions yet, but here’s the best I’ve got so far.  Continue reading

Live long and flourish.

Silk Naturals Eye Shadow in Flourish

What Silk Naturals says: “Flourish is a sheer pale gold glimmer.  It’s lovely and ethereal as a lid wash, or great for adding a little oomph on top of your look.”

I just saw the new Star Trek Movie last night ‘Heart of Darkness’ and ohmygosh is it good. Plus, I kind of have the hots for Benedict Cumberbatch (the bad guy) and so that made it even better. He plays such a good bad guy. Anyway, I’m a bit on a Star Trek rant right now if you can’t tell from my title but I’m sure most of you are wanting to see this gorgeous shadow already! Continue reading
